A special strut/spring compressor tool is needed. Don't try to release it without the correct tool or you may get hurt. Sublet this to a local tire shop, they will be able to help you.

autozone will lend you this tool for free.deposit required.

Unable to figure out how to remove the rear coil springs on a 2008 Ford Taurus SEL. (Does not have pinch bolts)
