1998 Ford Expedition Question: remote not functioning properly

osita, 4.6L V8, Lemoore, CA, March 23, 2009, 13:36

By mistake my keys with the remote to my Expedition were left in my jacket pocket and I washed them and dried them in the dryer. My husband heard a loud clatter in the dryer and found the keys and remote. Now my remote does not work properly. It does unlock the car but that is about it. What should I do?

Open up the battery compartment and use a hair dryer on it, Be careful don't overheat it, Dry it out and change the battery.

Thank you for the answer. We don't have a hairdryer so I let the remote air dry for about a week and put in the new battery like you said and now the remote works. I am going to buy a hairdryer for these types of situations. Last year I washed my new cell phone and it never worked again.
