Reduced engine power light on 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

After jump starting my vehicle the check engine light and the reduced engine power light came on. The vehicle moves only on its own idling power. There is no response when pressing the gas pedal down.

had that experience lastnight folks...I was running low on gasoline, my warning light came on said "ruduced engine power" stepped on gas pedal wouldn't let me go over 23-30 mph sure was loosing power, then put gasoline in and what do you know...everything was fine, warning light went off and power regained, everything fine now.
Oh by the way..... I have a 2004 Chevey Silverado 1500.
2004 Silverado 1500 same thing happened to my truck with and old weak battery. Since replacing the battery the problem has not reoccurred.
Low voltage can cause all kinds of strange faults. I would recommend checking the battery and connections of your 2001 Chevrolet Siverado 1500. See if the problems goes away with a fully charged battery.

I am having similar problems with my 04 Silverado, I went to nj inspection station only to fail for an emissions not ready code. The guy said my check engine light came on and I did something to turn it off. All Ive ever done was put gas in my truck and change the oil. Anyway I took it to a garage and while checking to see what was wrong, we checked the fuse for the ECM, and it was blown and after putting new fuse in my trucks check engine light came on for the first time, and a message came across saying reduced engine power and the truck wouldn't go over 20 mph. I took the good fuse out and put the blown one back in and the truck runs fine.
