2000 Jeep Cherokee

Question: recently purchased vehicle with 36,000 miles, the check engine light is on.

I took it to shop who replaced the evap vent selonoid (whatever that is), he then told me to drive it for 80 miles which I did last nite. The light is still on. Any ideas?

The shop should have either cleared the code after repair and informed you that monitors had to be reset by following the jeeps drive-cycle and procedures OR should have cleared the code and checked if it was within pass/fail parameters for an evap test.
