As of this writing Ford has not yet announced a notification schedule for this recall. If you don't receive notification in a timely manner and believe you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Ford recall number is 14B04.
This limited regional recall is for vehicles currently registered or first sold in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and equipped with Takata-brand air bag inflators. Upon deployment the driver and/or passenger airbag inflator could rupture, increasing the risk of personal injury. Ford dealers will replace the affected airbag inflator modules to correct this concern.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is conducting a limited regional recall for certain model year 2005-2007 Mustang, 2005-2006 GT and 2004 Ranger vehicles originally sold or currently registered in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and equipped with Takata-brand air bag inflators. Upon deployment of the driver side and/or passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture. Specifically, in the following vehicles, the drivers air bag inflators are affected: 2005-2007 Mustang. In the following vehicles, the passengerÂs air bag inflators are affected: 2004 Ranger. In the following vehicles, both the driverÂs and passengerÂs air bag inflators are affected: 2005-2006 GT.
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of one of the affected frontal air bags, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the vehicle occupants.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace any defective air bag inflators, as necessary, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14B04.
