Four Volt vehicles are being recalled because one or both front brakes may lock up and not release.
Chevrolet will notify owners of affected Volt models beginning July 12, 2013. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Chevrolet recall number is 13184.
Operation of the anti-lock brake system (ABS), traction control, and electronic stability control (ESC) puts to use a brake pressure modulator valve assembly. This valve assembly can fail causing the front brakes to lock up and not release. Locking of the brakes could result in loss of steering control and/or lengthened stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash. dealers will replace the brake pressure modulator valve assembly to correct this concern.
