RepairPal Expert Overview
The passenger front air bag may deactivate unintentionally because sensors of the occupant detection system were manufactured out of specification.
Nissan notified owners of affected vehicles starting in April 2013. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them.
The occupant detection system may unintentionally shut down the passenger front air bag so that it will not deploy in an accident. Dealers will inspect the sensors of the occupant detection system and replace them as necessary free of charge to resolve the problem.
