The Exhaust Tail Pipe May Fall Off
Exhaust & Emissions, February 22, 2013
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
Certain 2012-2013 Carrera and Carrera 4 models equipped with a standard exhaust system are being recalled because the tail pipe may separate from the rear muffler unexpectedly.
What Should You Do?
If you have an affected vehicle, Porsche will notify you. If you believe your car is affected or are experiencing any abnormal noises or vibrations from the exhaust system, you should contact your Porsche dealer. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Porsche recall number is AD01.
This condition affects only certain Carrera and Carrera 4 models equipped with a standard, non-sport exhaust system. The exhaust tail pipe may fall off the rear muffler, causing a hazard to other vehicles and increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the rear muffler on affected vehicles to correct this concern.
