Body, Interior & Misc., July 30, 2012
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
Ford is recalling 2011-2012 Transit Connect vehicles because one or both windshield wiper arms may not properly clear the windshield or they may fall off completely.
What Should You Do?
Ford will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning August 13, 2012. If you are experiencing problems with the windshield wipers, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The wiper arms may not be adequately riveted, resulting in incomplete or inconsistent clearing of the windshield and possible detachment of the wiper arm. If the wiper arm detaches, the driver's visibility may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the driver and passenger side wiper arm and blade assemblies to correct this concern. The Ford recall number is 12S36.
