Make Model Year(s)
Volkswagen Routan 2012

Suspension & Steering, April 4, 2012

RepairPal Expert Overview

15 vehicles are being recalled because the right rear hub and bearing assembly may fail prematurely. This could lead to the wheel separating from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Volkswagen will notify owners of affected vehicles during April 2012. If an abnormal noise or vibration is noted from the right rear of the vehicle, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.

15 vehicles may have been assembled with a right rear hub and bearing assembly that was not fully machined. This could result in decreased durability and premature failure. Failure could result in wheel separation from the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the right rear hub and bearing assembly to correct this concern. The Volkswagen recall number is 42G3/W2.
