Potential Number of Units Affected: 314

Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. ONE OR BOTH OF THE BOLTS THAT RETAIN THE BRAKE CALIPER TO THE AXLE MAY HAVE MISSED A FINAL ASSEMBLY TORQUE OPERATION. CONSEQUENTLY THEY MAY BE LOOSE OR POSSIBLY MISSING.

Consequence: CALIPER DISENGAGEMENT FROM THE AXLE COULD RESULT CAUSING REDUCED VEHICLE STABILITY WHEN BRAKING AND POSSIBLY LOCKING UP OF THE AFFECTED WHEEL.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THESE VEHICLES TO VERIFY THAT THE PROPER TORQUE HAS BEEN APPLIED.
