Air Bag light stays on. I am being told that the driver side seat belt buckle needs to be replaced at a cost of $415.00 plus tax. Not sure what the air bag has to do with the seat belt buckle, can someone provide information to me. thank you.

My air bag light came on three times, the dealer fixed it twice. It's a bad wire harness connection under the seat. Did dealer tell you it was the seat belt that needed to be replaced? I would question this. I have contacted NHTSA at 1.888.327.4236 about my air bag problem and so should you, we might get hyundai to fix it for free! COME ON PEOPLE, WE ARE NOT ALONE ON THIS AIR BAG ISSUE! START CALLING.

I have the same Air bag problem, the dealer told me today my driver seat buckle need be replaced and they have to order part, total cost$430. I was told to leave the car for the following day computer test, but within 5 minutes after leaving the shop, they called with price tag of $430 requesting me to authorize them to order the part. They know the problem very well and they don't tell customer;let unite and have HYUNDAI Recall, we have done nothing wrong it is their technical problem. view this site here. view this site here http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2005/hyundai/santa_fe/reca... and http://www.internetautoguide.com/auto-recalls/09-int/2005...

Your owner's manual describes how the seat belts are related to the air bags, but it's not the buckle from what I can see. It's the tension mechanism where the seat belt pulls out from. Keep looking for a better answer before paying them!!! I'm having the same problem right now and it's also on the Hyundai Santa Fe.
