Question: rear hatch light ajar,light staying on in dash will not go out

the rear hatch light ajar light in dash will not go out even though the hatch is locked and closed....any suggestions

    Most likely it is a mis-adjusted or defective 'hatch closed' switch. It will be in or near the hatch latching mechanism.
