Rear brake lock up on 1999 Dodge Ram 2500

The drivers side rear brake seems to over adjust and cause the brake shoes the burn. This has happened twice not. Can I disconnect the auto adjuster? Is there any root cause. Using only top of the line shoes.

I wouldn't disconnect the brake automatic adjusters. I would investigate the emergency brake to see it fully releases and see nothing is "hanging up". I am not sure how brake pressure is "proportioned/distributed" under braking. Perhaps looking at Dodge Ram or Dodge truck specific web forums may have an answer for you or there is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers. You get a one year subscription to year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... great quality information same as the professionals have ,much better than generic workshop manuals from parts stores, much cheaper than the factory manual. http://www.alldatadiy.com/
