Rear Brake Caliper Replacement
On modern braking systems, disc brakes are commonly used on each wheel. Brake calipers are part of the disc braking system. When the driver depresses the brake pedal, pressure is applied to the brake caliper, which then applies pressure to the brake pads in order to stop the vehicle.
Repair
To replace the rear brake caliper, the wheel is removed and the defective brake caliper is taken off the vehicle and replaced.
Notes
We recommend replacing both rear brake calipers to maintain optimum operating efficiency. After replacing the brake caliper, air must be removed from the braking system.
