rear bearings & the Knuckle on 2006 Lincoln LS

Lincoln shop says the rear wheel noise is coming from bearings on each side but also say I need to replace Knuckle at same time?? At $1,450 parts only. Could I get by with bearings only for $200 parts??? Knuckle is expensice???

They may know from past experience that these cars wear steering knuckles if the bearing wears out, or they could just be covering their but against a "come back". If you trust them ask them to remove the wheel bearing and examine the hub without automatically replacing it.
