The rear axle pinion seal may leak causing fluid loss and possible internal rear end damage. Replacing the faulty seal will commonly correct this concern. Some 2005-2007 models have been recalled for this issue.

I had this problem last year Dec. 14' I was driving on I-75 from Naples to Jacksonville and all of a sudden poof, it sounded as if something were dragging. I got into a shop and it was the rear end that needed to be replaced as the axel had leaked unknown to me and eventually caused it to become damaged. I paid about $1500 to get this fixed.
