1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Question: Random Multiple Misfires

Visitor, 3.4L V6, Redgranite, WI, April 19, 2010, 10:41

Just had my engine replaced after the timing belt broke. the new engine has 88,000 miles on it and ran good for about 2 weeks and now it runs rough and will only start if gas pedal is all the way to the floor. won't go over 4000 rpm. When put on computer, it comes up as Random Multiple Misfires. Just wondering if it is worth fixing now after paying $1600.00 for new engine w/labor.

remember, your motor has 88000 and is not new. you have no history and should start fresh. the fact you have to floor it means to me that you have a fuel supply issue like a leaking injector or fuel regulator. take it to a shop and have it checked.

It almost sound like another timing belt sliping causing the cylinders to missfire.
