 Rookie

IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET THE SERIAL # OFF THE RADIO W/O TAKING THE RADIO OUT? I WAS CLEANING THE POSTS ON THE BATTERY AND DID'T KNOW THIS WOULD LOCK THE RADIO UP WHEN DISCONNECTED. HOW DO I REMOVE THE SIDE PANEL BE FROM CENTER CONSOLE TOACCESS BACK OF RADIO?

  The radio has to be removed to get the number unfortunately.

  I believe it is only the later models Honda and Acura that have the hold down the buttons to get an access code but I'll do some research and post the model year that you hold down presets buttons to get a code as opposed to having to remove the radio to get the chassis number of the radio,

  Yes turn your car on and hold the 1 and 6 buttons on your radio and the serial # will display. Or you can call Acura and they will tell you how to get it.

  This may be a little late, but in my 98 acura CL, the unlock code was on a sticker on the under side of the front ash tray. When it asks for the code, just enter the numbers provided. I think it may also be located in or on the glove box or even relocated by a previous driver to the owners manual.
