Question: Radiator expansion tank

The radiator was replaced about 8 months ago. I just noticed a leak on a box next to the radiator and was told this was the radiator expansion tank. How expensive of a repair is this and should the tank have been replaced as part of the radiator replacement?

    BMW and VW have a problem with some of the plastics they used. It seems like some of the plastics used in cooling system components like coolant housings and expansion tanks seem to fail too frequently due to normal heat cycles of the cooling system. Being a know problem close inspection should be done any time there is a cooling system failure.
