PRNDL readout on dash shows all gears selected. Have replaced Neutral Safety Switch and Speed Sensor. Car is still over-revving before finding the next gear and is occasionally downshifting to neutral or a lower gear on its own.
Am told this car has a 'range switch' on the transmission located somewhere under the battery tray on tranny. I cannot find it.
If you could simply tell me where it's located and what it looks like that would make my millennium. I cannot seem to find a definitive answer on this one. Thanks

TB will not adapt. Reads error on vagcom. ECP light stays on. ABS light on since i purchased car a year ago. Check engine on light intermittently.

He set the cables up backwards when he jumped it. The battery isn't fried and niether are any fuses. Why won't it start or even attempt to putter? All lights turn on and same with fans. The radio wont tho. Someone said it may be the computer? My friend said my car should have a safety on it so nothing gets hurt when stuff like that happens? any help? costs? diagnosis?

went to change my headlight lowbeam and the mechanic at the store said it was the wires not the light and he could not fix it that i would have to go to the dealer or where i bought the car.

Usually after driving for about 30'minutes or so I will start to feel my car rattle. It only happens at higher speeds and when I'm accelerating. As soon as I step off the gas it stops rattling. If I use cruise cromtol it constantly rattles until turned off. It's only got 124k on it. Fresh oil change. Any idea why?

The front passenger door does not lock, and the interior lock/unlock light on the door does not turn orange like the other 3 doors when they are locked. It lurches slightly in second gear, too. After the engine has run for a while, the lurching stops. This just started yesterday, Oct 15. I let out the clutch very slowly when I start out, but it lurches as soon as I release it. Is this a sign of the clutch failing?

The 2003 is dying, the 2005 needs an AC system. I would like to take the system from the 2003 before I junk it. Will the AC lines line up correctly?

Power steering light is on when I took the car to VW the service guy at first said the rack was leaking then came back and said its the module but when I google power steering module nothing comes up. So Im not sure if i should look into replacing the rack or not.

What to expect when I try to repair the timing belt. Belt teeth were stripped near crankshaft -top of belt was good. What are some of the common problems mechanics have setting time and replacing belt. Time tdi is way off and not sure where to start and in what order to do it n. Replace tensioner also? Funds are low. Remove motor mount ? I seen on a video. What do I have to do with the computer after repairing belt? I also replaced the crankshaft,camshaft sensors. Reset or program something. Had to Touch terminals together to get car to start after crankshaft sensor replacement. Thanks. Any & all info will be greatly appreciated.

someone is selling they said everything is good condition but it just stop working

I have a 99 Jetta with a 2.0 engine. I recently had a new clutch installed, but now my car doesn't shift correctly. It shifts amazing when the car isn't running (regardless if I press the clutch in). When I shift it into first (while its off) then turn the car on, it lurches forwar a little bit. After the car is on and I stop I cant shift into first at all. Its hard to shift into all the gears and it'll grind if I push too hard. The clutch engages almost immediately after I start to release my foot. While its in gear and its running (when I don't have to shift) it drives good. As I shift into a different gear it feels chunky and it takes at least 5 seconds to shift into a different gear.

My oil light won't go off after filling it with oil. I'm a car dummy.

This is similar to my previous question about electrical issues with the car. At random times, with the AC on full blast, I will notice a burning smell from the vents. It will go away after a while, but honestly I'm worried the car may explode on me.

I'm assuming this is an electrical issue. About a year ago, my windows began rolling up and down on their own. This includes the sunroof which will open at random times. The radio and lights work fine, and I can easily roll the windows back up if they open on their own.

Shop found too much voltage from horns. Replaced fuse, repair horn wiring & terminals, replace relay, R&I both horns and replace. 6 weeks later, horn not working. Returned it to shop & they repaired it again. Month later, horn not working.
