can someone direct me to some instructions on how to change the ect myself?
light came on and I saw that coolant was low. had radiator flushed and refilled. now level is low again. just how much coolant goes into a eurovan
Problem originally just happened when we drove up the hill we live on with a full car. A knocking noise would occur and then stop when you let up on the gas. Problem then started to happen at different times in different driving conditions. Most recently the noise would happen when I am on the freeway at speed and the knock would start slowly and then build up to almost constantly. I just had the water pump changed, thought it was that, but problem continues with new water pump.
I replaced the ABS system in the car. The dealer, who has little experience with Eurovans, said it would be very expensive to turn the indicator lights off. Is this true, or is there a reset somewhere?
My 2001gls is idling poorly(if at all). The vehicle is under 60k miles and very clean , Had new plugs installed a month or so ago and it remedied the problem for a bit of time but not long.Wondering if it may bee a consistent sensor or electronic element failure or....? I can nbot drive it to a code reader presently . I apreciate all input .

The timing chain went at around 50,000 miles. The dealer qouted $4,500 for repair and 1 1/2 weeks. Almost 4 weeks later they presented me with a bill for $6,000! Plus the door handle on the driver side went. That cost me almost $400. I couldn't find either issue in the estimate section.Anyone know if this was truly excessive for the repairs. I'm still angry about the cost of the timing chain. AND...the door handle is broken again.sigh...
Feels like the transmission thinks the accelerator is fully depressed, but it is not. Occasionally will shift down going downhill, just after the accelerator is lifted.
EVERY TIME WHEN RUNNING WITH THE WINDOWS CLOSE AND THE A/C ON
Can someone help me obtain an owners manual for 1997 VW Eurovan. VW no longer supports this need. Either the manual or a copy will suffice. Willing to reimburse for time spent. Thanks. David

Hi, my regular shop diagnosed a fan issue - the heater blower motor assembly needs replacement as the shaft is bent. Should this cost about $900? Their est. included a new VW part - is a cheaper aftermarket assembly a bad idea? Their labor est. is many hours - is this correct? If this is really a complicated job, should I consider taking it to a dealer(closest is serveral hours away!)? Thanks, JRP

The van has 38,000 miles on it. Took it in for an oil change. Shop mechanic told me that the belt had fine cracks in it. Quoted around 240 to replace. I think the belt is around 60. Can I do it myself?
No matter what gas station I go to the gas keeps cutting of after every 30 cents. It takes forever just to put $10 in the tank. What's up with that?
full of free-on. tried fuse and it pops it out. fan works. no cool air. what do we do next and what are the possibilities?
Car is full of Free-on and when we put in a new fuse it pops it out. Fan works but does not get cool. Whole thing was rebuilt 3 years ago after coils caught fire and burned up.
I have spent $850 so far trying to get the a/c to blow cold. I will blow "cool" if the vehicle sets over night or for a few hours, if the A/C is engaged at highway speeds it will blow "cool" air most of the day, if the system is not disengaged. If the system is disengaged it may not produce cool air. Rialtas have an additional evaporator to cool passingers. The air from this source is cooler than the air from the dast outlets even though it is the same system. The system has been evacuated and recharged three times now, the last time was when the expansion valve was replaced at $429 at a VW dealership. Does any one have experience or a suggestion for repairs.
My Euro Van is a Rialta Camper. It needs a tuneup but the VW dealer will not touch it. How do you acess the plugs to change them
After driving 15 hours air conditioning went out then smelled like burning then a loud noise like metal on metal sound turned off then restarted. Let cool down but will not start again is the fuel pump in the gas Tank?? Could the timming belt worn out ?? any ideas?

I drove my 93 Eurovan to work and now it won't start. I checked all the fuses and they are okay. I have power to the coil and to the distributor, but I am getting no spark from the coil.
we have received different firing code and we changed it and have the same problems they gave us 1 3 5 2 4 6 now 1 5 3 6 2 4 we havent try this one yet we want to be sure its been a nightmare
I have a 2000 Eurovan with a V6 OBD2 scan code of p0300 (random misfire). Also, a " Fuel System 1 , Closed Loop-fault". What does this mean? Thanks.
I TOOK OFF ENGINE COVER AND TRYING TO LOCATE SPARK PLUGS.
It shifts slowly from park to drive. Once in drive it shifts fine while you're driving down the road.
Key fails to turn past the point to start the engine (the point where the key is pressing on the spring in the key cylinder) ,and the dash warning lights fail to come on . Head lights burn fine, radio, fan, etc work fine. no dimming of headlamps when key is turned. All fuses are ok.
It seems worse in the cold, but the engine seems to crank, but seems like fuel is not getting to engine properly as sometimes the car's starts and immediately stalls, and after about 5 tries would finally start. Now cranking is a little slower. One mechanic suggest battery might be low, but everyday I try this it has enough power to crank 5-10 times, so battery is not dead, but could be low. any suggestions, could it be a fuel filter/pump? But once started car runs smoothly and idle's OK, so problem is only during starting?
