I took my car to that mechanic three times after he "worked" on it (he did rear main seal, timing belt, water pump, plugs, wires, distributor cap, valve cover gasket). And every time I went back, there was a new problem. Like the power steering fluid leak he says that I have, that I've never had to put fluid in for. And it's supposedly leaking from the distributor now (he replaced some kind of O ring there or so he says plus he replaced the new valve cover gasket also ...). Oh, and it's still trying to stall out on me at red lights after it gets good and warm. Really bad idling issue. He told me it was the throttle idle body - cleaned it up he said, but no. That didn't fix it. At all. Right now, I barely trust her to get me to the store a mile from my house. From what I read in my book, it could be 12 different things. EGR valve or PCV valve, vacuum leaks, air filter clogged (I know it isn't this), leaking head gasket, timing belt worn (just replaced that so no), camshaft lobes worn, valves need adjusting or they're burned/leaking, ignition timing out, dirty or clogged injectors, idle speed out of adjustment, ignition timing out of adjustment .... and I don't know where to start.
The engine good start but after few minutes the engine shut off. ..The spark plugs look black, when accelerate don't have power the engine.
I changed the engine because was burned to much oil it has more the 2 hundred thousand miles, after that have problems with rough idle unstable after few minutes the engine shut off. ..

What would be the cause for a car to crank but wont start
it will barely move. it goes into gear. could it be clutch slave cylinder? or is it definite clutch replacement
Engine & battery lights came on and stayed on.
Im not too familar with transmissions, and would like to get a general idea as to what i might be looking to pay to have it replaced. (i understand price would vary depending on which shop i go to.) thanks for any info given!
Ok so I just replaced the clutch in my 96 celica, it took me a few weeks seeing as I work long hours. Well I completed it just to find it still isn't turning over. So I checked the fuel pump to see if it was spitting gas and it wasn't so I replaced that just to find it still isn't turning over, any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Sometimes when driving the gear slips after 2nd causing rpm to go high as if it's in neutral. I'm not sure exactly what it is, clutch, broken gears, or anything else.... anyone have similar issues and know how to fix?
I just had the transmission replaced and have had to take it back 5 times in 6 month period. The bearings dropped out and the mechanic repaired but now the speed odometer runs faster than the car is running. Why
Car wont start with just the turn of the key like it should BUT if I spray starting fluid in the throttle body and then turn the key it'll start right away and stay on and be driveable.
At beginning, It use to run for kms than shut off, it would restart and do some more kms but as the time pass, it get worst and now it only start for 3 secondes and stop, it always start good. I check for codes, nothing, I unplug the gas line before the rail and I stated with gas spraid in the intake and I fill a gallon of gas in about a minute, it run as long as a spray gas in the intake. Checked for Intake air leaks - None
Replaced front heated oxygen sensor
Cleaned fuel injectors
Checked for Exhaust gas leaks - none
Checked fuel pressure - good
Cleaned Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
Checked Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose connection - no leaks
I am at a loss for what to do next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Last owner let car rust to near death. Would be greatly appreciated for a diagram from front to back for gas and brake lines. I seem to have 2 rear brake lines and 3 gas lines. Line tubes range from 3/16" , 1/4" , & I think 3/8" maybe.
The money to have one put in and i dont have tools or space to do it myself. Is their anyway i can get a lil more life out of it so i can drive home not scrap it for a plane ticket!
to see if it is flopping and maybe have the timing chain guide replaced, before there is a breakage and the resulting damage.( maybe timing chain replacement)
Two prior owners so that it is difficult to say what the mileage is although car had not been registered for a period of 9 years.

this car has been JERRY rigged so bad someone bypassed the fuel relay and it will only run when it wants and that is dangerous.I love this car and am a single only one person no help I want to fix it can you help me. Im willing to have a taggle switch to the fuel pump . Please help me.
Could adjust your clutch peddle in a little to get a little more life out of it. There is a button on the firewall below the clutch peddle. I hit it.The car will not start at all. It seems like a direct short.I have had this car since it was new.127,000 miles. I'm at my wits end on this one.Any help would be appreciated so much. Thank you
My car will sit overnight and when i start driving everything is fine until it has been running for a while then my speedometer starts going crazy and my cars engine doesnt want to shift properly so sometimes it feels like it goes into neutral.also the o/d light keeps flashing on and off.I already replaced the 2 shift solenoids.

I've got a water leak on a 91 Gen 5 Toyota Celica,
that's 1 of the 2 lines going to the heater core,
inside the engine-side of the firewall.

I have a Mon-Fri Celica I drive. For the last two Mondays, I've tried to start the car only to get a single click, followed by no turn over of the engine. The cabin lights still get full power and if the door is open you get that warning *bing*. As soon as you get the jumper cables attached you can turn the ignition and get a solid start like she has a brand new starting system. Once she's started I drive 20 miles at around 75 mph to get to work and she starts just fine all week. Could be so many things! Ignition switch, starter, solenoid, don't know where to begin!!
