I have 112,000 on my van and want to know if I will create any problems if I switch to a synthetic oil.

New blower will stop completely as you drive (or even just sitting) and then may come back on or be working the next time the van is started. If the resistor should allow it to at least run on high,what else might it be?

Problem occurred on Sunday 1/2/2011 the van was trying to stall at a light. Managed to get it home without stopping and when I pulled into the driveway it stalled out. Its been running rather rough and will not idle correctly ever since! Installed new tune up parts, plugs, wire, rotor,cap and then I pulled an error code 22 from the dash lights and replaced the TPS switch check engine light went away and no further fault code and van still running the same!

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AFTER BEING CHECKED IN LOW TEMPERTURES OF GEORGIA THIS PAST CHRISTMAS.

My van is losing coolant and I believe it is going into the motor oil. I do not see any outside leak. I was already told that it is going into the oil.

is there a way to read engine codes on a 98 gmc safari van? I know that I can read the codes on my ford aerostar by turning off and on twice, then leaving the key on and watch the engine light blink, (like 3 blinks, then a pause, then the last number. then comes (I think) a 55 code meaning the end of the code) is there a way to do something like this on a 98 gmc safari. rear wheel drive with a 4.3 dual air till I can afford a OBIII code reader.

the rear liftgate.latch on the drivers side won't release,so i can't open any of the bottom doors or upper window . is there any special trick thats used to open the lift gate so i can replace the switches and rods? any info you can provide would be great. thanks.

WHEN I BOUGHT THIS VAN ITS FUEL GAUGE DID NOT WORK. WHEN STARTING THE VAN THE NEEDLE GOES NUTS AND AFTER RUNNING. IT JUST PEGS THE FULL MARK. BUT SOMETIME AFTER DRIVING FOR AWHILE .WHEN I START THE VAN IT WILL STAY ON THE HALF TANK MARK TILL I SHUT IT OFF. WHAT MAKES THIS GAUGE ACT LIKE THIS? THANKS AGAIN.

I RECENTLY STARTED HEARING TICKING TO A HEAVY THUMPING NOISES WHEN GIVING MY GMC SAFARI VAN GAS AND A RAPID TAPPING SOUND FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER I LET OFF THE GAS. I HAD A NEW FLYHEEL PUT IN THE SAME WEEK IT STARTED THIS. BUT I'VE NOTICED LATELY THERE IS NO TICKING WHEN I START THE VAN AND LET IT IDLE AND IF I DRIVE MORE THAN 10 TO 20 MILES WHEN I SHUT IT OFF IT SMELLS OF BURNT RUBBER COMING FROM UNDER THE VAN. SO I HOPE THERE ISN'T A ROD OR BEARING PLOBLEM. DOES ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS WHAT MIGHT HAVE WENT WRONG HERE? ANY IDEAS ARE BETTER THEN A BLANK. SO PLEASE HELP. AND HAVE A GOOD XMAS TO ALL. THANKS

I had my flywheel replaced, no flywheel noises now, but i have a deep knocking noise when i give it gas, and when i let off the gas it gives a rapid tapping noise then gets quit till i give it gas again. can something that was done while replacing the flywheel be causing this noise?

i recently had my flywheel replaced and after about 2 weeks the moter started making a lower front end knocking noise. i've ask the guy who did the repairs, over 3 months ago and he said he has to do some internet searches and get back with me, now he won't answer my calls and i havent heard a wisper fom him or his company. so i wanted to find out if a defective flywheel was or went bad make this noise. thanks

How to do this?

I have the panel removed, do I drill out what appears to be two rivets holding it or does it pull out somehow?
When I look at a new Actuator it is not helping me.

My blower fan for the AC/Heater will work, and then it cuts out for a day or two, and then comes back on again. This has happened 3-4 times in the last couple weeks. Any idea's of what may cause this? I just had a new blower put in last March. Thank you!

to talegate, the part of the talegate that swings up?

can the rear seal in the transmision be cnanged with out pulling transmisionm out ?

the power steering is leaking fluid almost as fast as I can pour it in.

A line to the rad from the transmission is leaking trans. fluid. Is it difficult to replace this line?

ecm b fuse keeps blowing and fuel pump not working

How do these both relate to each other? Can they both go out at the same time because of a common denominator? What could this common denominator> Does the steerinf assist contro solenoid have anything to do with this?

We turned a sharp corner and lost power steering and brakes. we are ver confused and need to know why. We have done some research and came up with the pump or maybe the hydraulic systen or the solenoid. Please help us narrow it down to something.

I'm unable to reverse after going from Drive to Reverse. Has my transmission be compromised?

The engine started fine. I backed up a ffew feet and the engine died when I turned on the AC. Will not restart. The engine turns over, but will not start. The headligts will not come on, the rear AC fan will not work, the horn will not work and none of the interior lights work. I have pulled all of the fuses out of the fuse box, all are OK. Even though the engine turned over normally, I pulled the battery and charged it. That did not help. The Altenator has not been putting out as much voltage as it sould. Please help.

I need to get to the back of the van's engine but can not figure out what to take apart to see the engine from under the dash. Can you give specific instructions?

My ABS light comes on every morning about three miles from home on the interstate, usually when I hit a series of bumps. Sometime, when I'm driving alot during the day, the light will go out. Does this sound like a wheel sensor type problem? The dealer wanted me to put in a new $800+ control module.
