No noises. Running fine. Oil pressure has been low. Engine light wasn't on. Just went dead going down road and will turn over but wont start.

We replaced the battery first then alternator n starter. Still does the same thing. Amp meter on dash don't show more than 13. Alternator is charging. Where are the ground straps located on a 99 silverado 1500 4x4 LT. 5.3 L. I'm stumped. Unstump me please. Thanks

It knocks for about 10 minutes, then stops. During this time I notice the oil pressure gauge just below 40 at start. When the knock finally stops, the oil pressure gauge is just passed 40. I tried flushing the motor, but to no success. It always sounds like the driver side front lifter that starters knocking, 10 minutes after initial start and stops about 10 minutes after that. Any Ideas? Thought about changing oil pump, but not sure If that is necessary nor could I handle the job.

did i fry the computer?

Already checked fuses and switch.

It did it for 1 day and I haven't been able to get it started since no trouble before that

This has been a known issue by Chev since 2001. Why has there not been a recall? I just paid $860 CDN to replace the entire inside door trim - there are no other repair options. Surely, Chev must revisit their manufacturing & materials Quality Control. How about a massive class action law suit before someone drowns/dies or is horribly disfigured in a vehicle fire and can't escape because the cheap 'pot-metal' cast aluminum snapped.

bulb was bad still no work put right side bulbs in left side they work?? Right side bulbs lite but do not blink green turn indicator on dash is lit

I just replaced a fuel pump in my truck, and within a week got a check engine light. Scan says error code P0171 & P0174, which shows bank 1 & 2 fuel system too lean. Could this error be related to my recent fuel pump replacement?

They've been changing the oil every 7000 miles and I've noticed it uses a quart of oil between oil changes is this normal

I have an 03 chevy Z71 that the 4wd doesn't work the light stays on 2wd just put a new achuator in the front end and till says service 4wd help.

I switched my motor with an 07 motor which I was told would be a perfect match everything is hooked up but when I crank it the truck fires up and imidetly cuts off if anyone knows maybe what's wrong or if there's a difference in the motor anything helps and it would be greatly appreciated

Never had this issue with the truck or any other vehicle before. While at idle in traffic, intermittently the engine will start to pulse between roughly 500 rpm's and nearly none. The pulsing will start off minimal but grow to the point that it will finally die. I can throw it into park and restart it no problem, but the pulsing continues. Otherwise I have no problems with the engine while driving. I have noticed that it only seems to do this when in gear, not when in park.

sometimes heat blows out when on AC Cooling and have to turn engine off to fix it.
also check engine soon light comes on and goes off 2 or three times a day and then goes off and the ABS and Brake light, had it checked but nothing wrong?

On a 06 Silverado 1500 Z71, 5.3T motor; Service 4WD lit up. My push button 4wd selector only flashes when put in Auto 4WD,4H or 4L. 2H works good. Fuses all good, wiring seems intact. Cleaned ground wires under driver side frame. YouTube video showed problem with ohm meter parameters. Mine were all off, replaced the switch, cleared the code (C0379 Front axle circuit), no change. Transfer case engages, just nothing to the front end. What's next, actuator?

ran fine this AM, stopped at store, came out 15 mins later and get check engine with reduced engine power. Truck was running and able to get home, but ran at a little above idle RPM and no ability to accelerate. Checked air intake and that had a nest of some sort in it. Cleaned that out and no effect on check engine. Could it be a fuel problem, fuel filter?

3 4 does not work

fails to start @ random,changed out the ignition switch and key tumblers,checked the ground system,the battery was tested and its good

I replaced the water pump a month ago and replaced the head gasket and thermostat yesterday and it still running hot could it be the raidiator stopped up

When it shuts off my dash lights are on still but my power steering and brakes arent there. It will not start again untill the fused is replaced. It will sit and idle without shutting off but stut off while driving.

I am replacing the upper and lower ball joint on the drivers side of my truck, I need to know how to take the factory lower ball joint out? I have the upper one out already. It is a 4wd also where some parts are 2007 and others are 2008.

will not shift out of two wheel high. i have heard of a module or some kind of solenoid to replace first. what is your suggestion.

Had radiator replaced and thermostat about a month ago. Also have been having an issue with the front right side caliper getting stuck at times on the rotor. Replaced pads, calipers, lines, master cylinder, battery, tires, and the problem of the right side front caliber still gets hung up after driving for awhile. Once I turn the engine off and let it sit for a hour or more, the caliper releases. My mechanic was going to change the booster but upon it finally happening with him driving he feels that the booster is not the problem. Just a side note rear brakes are drums. I got the truck back about a week ago because my mechanic was stumped and didnt have the time to spend figuring out the problem. He advised to take it to a Chevy repair center and have them run a diagnostics. I got the truck back and it started to make a squealing noise then suddenly the engine was smoking. The temperature gauge didn't indicate that the engine was running hot. It happened suddenly. Opened the hood and all the radiator coolant was leaking out. Filled it with water and made a block to my house. The noise was gone and the engine was reading 210 degree F and didn't rise above for the short 1 min ride. Could the water pump broke or something else?
