2.8 celebrity

I have to keep one foot on the break and one foot on the gas to start and move the car once im moving i have to keep giving it more gas to keep it moving even when coming to a stop light or sign is this fuel or air related or both????

This is a 1985 Celebrity, but this list only goes to 1990. Buzzing is only when temp controls are in the off position, but battery still being drained. When defrost, a/c, etc is selected, buzz stops, but battery still being drained. All fuses are good and correct (position/amps).

Why is there no power going to the 1985 celebrity fuel pump

Not sure where to take for repair. Regular Mechanic or body shop

I'm just trying to find out how to check my codes on a 1986 chevy celebrity. Check engine light comes on its a 6 cylinder 2.8

The water pump, power steering pump and ac compressor are taken off the car. I have original parts. This car has a automatic trans with 3 v belts. Altenator is mounted inplace it is on firewall side of engine. Ideler tention pulley is mounted to top side of motor. There is a pivot arm with parts. I am not sure how it all goes back together? THIS IS A 1986 CHEVY CELEBRITY 2.5 ENG. THANKS

My 1987 chevy celebrity will start. But i will put my foot on the break so i can put it in gear. And everytime we touch the break my car dies? I have changed the fuel pump already. Why is it doing this?

I will turn the ignition on and the engine instantly acts like it will start, and then it dies. After many attempts, it usually will turn over and run. While car is on, it runs normally.

if you spray carb cleaner it will run till you stop spray. have changed fuel pump, moduel, ecm have 52lb fuel pressure.

I have a 87 Chevy Celebrity when I drive it loses power and shuts off and then it's hard to start. Except when I unplug the map sensor the car starts. When I drive I have to keep pressing the gas petal so the car doesn't shut off. I have changed the fuel pump twIce, fuel filter, fuel strainer twIce, fuel relay, coil packs, spark plugs, map sensor.

I know how to adjust the valves i just need astarting point this is triump 68 if anybody can help thanks i had to put the year make & model in my question thanks

car won't start and fuel pouring out of the air cleaner there is no fuel in the fuel rail

I have never seen this problem before. I took it to a shop and the problem never happened again. It may also be good to know that my car sometimes has problems starting. I have found that these starting issues occur fewer times if the gas tank is full. However, that is not always a solution. Any ideas or advice? Also, my car only has 54,000 miles on it. Until recently, it spent most of its life in a garage.

The car is actually an 88 Celebrity, with the 2.8...V-6....your forum doesn't allow for this selection...the car starts and drives but it will not shift pass 2nd gear, it does NOT stall and/or die. I have read much on how it may be the TCC, but without the car stalling, I'm not sure this is the issue.

car was running fine went over a speed bump then battery light came on and alternator not charging

also would like to know were i can find new front bumper? car has 69000 MI and runs like a champ.

everthing comes out defrost vents including ac

start and run then die and not start. fuel pump is fine- ecu was tested and fine- no spark

I have a 1987 Chevy Celebrity. When I start it i have to give it gas rite away or it dies. When I drive it I have to stay on the throttle for about five minutes (includeing stop signs where i hold down brake at same time. When parked the idol runs really high. Once in a while it drops real low then kinda up n down in between. I checked for a vaccuum leak but found none. What am I missing? Does anybody have a repair solution?

Whenever my check engine light comes on the speedometer quits working and vice versa checked all the codes fixed all. Now light stays on all the time but the only code that flashes is 12.

I am having trouble with my 88 celebrity 2.8l v6! A week ago was driving up hill and when reached 60 mph, it stalled out, and let out little black smoke. by the end of day it started to stall around 30 mph, or when i put load on the engine it would stall, now i cant get it to start. if i do it runs a couple of seconds then dies. I have replaced the fuel pump, pump relay, fuel filter, replaced ignition coils, computer, prom, and crank position sensor. there is pressure of 40-42 at start, I tested the ignition control module,20 time 8 from one store, 12 from other and passed every time with no hesitation. I have fuel, spark, and pressure, but will not run, I even went as far as to check wiring to make sure didn't have short out some where...everything's fine!I have no injector pulse but from all six to go out would be strange.... Please help!

Why do I need some throttle pressure to start an EFI engine? By opening the throttle are you telling the computer more gas or more air? Fuel delivery checks good, pressure with no bleed back. No codes other than 12. Runs well but an intermittent problem with the engine cutting out when removing throttle pressure to slow down.
