Pulsating when applying brakes. on 2005 Pontiac Vibe

Why do I get a pulsating or vibrating sensation through the steering wheel when I apply the brakes?

This is most often due to warped brake rotors, which happens in the normal course of wear and tear on the car. It's normally an indication that it's time to service your brakes, and have the brake pads replaced and the brake rotors machined. Pretty sure your Pontiac has machinable rotors. Some cars have rotors that cannot be machined and must be replaced.
