The Check Engine Light may illuminate on vehicles with an automatic transmission, with code P0713 stored. This fault code is related to the transaxle fluid temperature sensor. Our technicians tell us a revised transaxle wire harness is available which should correct this concern.

The protective coating on the fuel tank may not have been properly applied during the manufacture process, resulting in a peeling condition. Toyota will inspect the fuel tank on affected vehicles and replace it as necessary. This limited service campaign expires on April 30, 2014.

critter got into the car possibly through the outside air intake and has died somewhere in the vehicle. Toyota took the interior apart looking for the dead critter with no luck. I need to have them take the dash apart and check where the air intake is.
Problem has not been fixed. Wrote to Toyota in CA and two dealers that have serviced the car. Only received an acknowledgement from Toyota in CA that they received my letter.
Periodically, for about a year, the VSC light would come on then go back off. then at 143000, the light came on and stayed on. Compute error log said to replace VSC Steering Sensor. Seems to have worked. Cost - $900.00
The intake manifold makes rattling sounds when you depress the gas pedal.
There is a manufacturing defect in the baffle that is loose inside of the intake manifold.
The fix is to replace the intake manifold.
Around 72k miles, my engine started making a load noise. Took it to the dealership and the water pump literally fell apart in the technicians hands. I had the extended warranty so the replacement was covered minus $100 for a new belt that was not covered by the warranty.
The last 2 times it has rained my driver's side floor board has been full of water. Took it to the shop and determined the drain for the sun roof was clogged.
Started the car one morning and the transmission started shifting extremely hard between 1st and 2nd gear. Took it to the dealership and the entire transmission had to be replaced. Thank goodness for my extended warranty. A $3700 repair cost me $50.
