The airbag warning light may illuminate erroneously. This can be caused by an internal defect in the control module. Replacement of the airbag control module with a revised part may be necessary to correct this concern.
The intake manifold gasket may develop an external engine oil or coolant leak. In some cases, an internal coolant leak may occur causing coolant to mix with the engine oil. Running the engine with a coolant/oil mix may result in engine damage. Replacing the intake manifold gasket should correct this issue.
Service brake system message, sometimes Service Stability, red brake light and TRAC OFF message.
These are sometimes the result of low brake fluid, but no obvious leaks are noted. Due to the design of the master cylinder and brake booster, the master cylinder can leak from the rear seal and collect inside the booster, leaving no drops on the ground or obvious signs.
You will need to replace the master cylinder and booster to correct.
Rough Running Idle, Erratic Speedometer Operation, ABS Light Illuminated, Check Engine Light, and Automatic Transmission Shifting Problems
Water intrusion into a connector located under the cab, beneath the driver's seat, can cause a rough idle, erratic speedometer operation, ABS Light and Check Engine Light illumination, and automatic transmission shifting problems. If needed, connector repair parts are available from Mazda dealers, and possibly some Ford dealers.
The distributor may develop internal faults. This can cause a rough running engine or stalling condition and the Check Engine Light may or may not illuminate. The distributor should be overhauled or replaced to correct this concern.
If you have to press the remote button numerous times to open the power liftgate, it may be necessary to update the software in the power liftgate module to correct this issue.
Rear vent windows not operating properly is a common problem with Honda Odesseys. The solution is to replace the window motors.
The IMA light coming on is usually caused by a battery pack that is no longer charging correctly. Replacing the battery pack will turn off the IMA light.
When the heater only works on high, the most common problem is a blower motor resistor. The correct repair is to replace it with a new resistor.
Crankshaft and camshaft position sensors can leak oil into the connector causing Check Engine Light illumination. The engine may also stall as a result. Leaking sensors should be replaced. The common problem for ignition misfires are ignition coils going bad. Replacement of the bad ignition coil is necessary. These should be fixed as soon as a problem is detected. Otherwise the misfire can cause damage to other components.
Parking lights not turning off intermittently or all the time. The common problem is with the cabin fuse box. Complete replacement of the assembly is necessary to fix the problem.
Door window fails to open or close. This is a very common problem with these BMWs.
You will need to replace the window regulator to fix this. Same problem and solution for all windows.
If the Heating A/C fan only works in certain positions ie. 3&4 but not 1 or 2. You most likely need a new blower motor resistor.
A frozen shift lever may be caused by either a bad brake switch or a broken gear lever mechanism. If the switch is bad it will not send the correct signal to allow you to shift. The solution is to replace the switch. If the switch is good, you will most likely have to replace the shift lever mechanism itself.
Map light will not turn on when opening drivers or passengers door. Caused by a faulty door switch. Requires replacement of door switch on side of non operation.
Door lock mechanisms not operating properly. Doors may not lock/unlock.
Replacement of faulty door lock actuator required for proper operation.
Headlight switches can fail, causing the headlights to intermittently stay in the on or off position. Repeatedly turning the switch on and off may temporarily fix the problem. Replacement of the switch is needed to resolve this issue.
Coolant leaking from the front of the vehicle is often due to a leaking radiator, which must be replaced.
One or more fuel injectors may become stuck closed causing an engine misfire and the Check Engine Light to illuminate. Our technicians tell us that this problem can be caused by some fuel additives. There are special procedures which may be able to restore the affected injector. If this fails the affected injector must be replaced.
A loose or corroded ground terminal on the driver's side of the cylinder head can cause a rough idle, misfires, and there may be trouble codes. Restore the ground to the cylinder head.
On vehicles equipped with rear air springs, the air compressor may fail causing the rear suspension to sit low.
The steering rack may fail causing a loss of power steering fluid as a result the steering may become hard to turn.
A faulty mass air flow (MAF) sensor can cause erratic/rough engine operation and fuel economy issues. Since this sensor measures the actual amount of air entering the motor, when it fails, the engine control module (ECM) takes the wrong information and delivers incorrect volumes of fuel to the cylinders.
The ignition switch may fail causing a no start condition. This is not generally a theft system (passlock) issue because the security light does not illuminate or flash.
