Known Problems

The water pump may develop a coolant leak resulting in an engine overheating condition.

 

The high pressure power steering hose will commonly leak fluid; it should be replaced.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) can fail causing stalling, and engine and transmission drivability concerns.

Brake fluid can become dirty and may cause problems in the brake system; it should be flushed every 60,000 miles.

Our technicians highly recommend that the engine coolant be replaced every 30,000 miles.

One or more power window switch may fail. The affected window may work intermittently before failing completely.

One or more of the power windows may stop working due to a failed window switch. Failed switches will require replacement.

The anti-lock brake (ABS) accumulator may fail causing loss of power brake assist. (The brake pedal will become very hard.)

The ABS master cylinder assembly may fail internally causing the ABS light to illuminate.
The timing belt may fail prematurely. Our technicians tell us that the belt tensioner and idler pulleys should be replaced when the timing belt is replaced.
One or more of the rear suspension links may become bent causing a severe rubbing noise.
