Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles were shipped with a Hitachi air suspension compressor, which wears out prematurely, causing the air suspension to become disabled since it cannot pressurize the system within the calibrated time frame. If the fault becomes active when the suspension is at "normal" height, the suspension is locked, preventing it from raising or lowering with a warning message "Normal Height Only". Low coolant levels can be caused by leaking head gaskets and/or failed cylinder liners. Misfires or engine performance issues usually accompany these problems.

The transfer case can develop a fluid leak from the intermediate shaft and/or the access plates.

Uneven ride height on the vehicle can be caused by leaking air springs.

The thermostat housing can leak causing a low coolant condition and you may also notice a sweet burning smell.

A driveline vibration may be noted, mostly at idle. Our technicians tell us a revised right side engine mount is available which should help with this concern.

Loose parking parking brake cables under the vehicle can rub against the driveshaft (sometimes called propeller shaft) and cause a thumping noise while driving.

The engine air filter should be inspected more often on vehicles that are driven frequently off-road or in dusty conditions. A contaminated mass air flow sensor can cause Check Engine Light illumination.

If you experience hard shifting or a delay in shifting, this may be caused by outdated transmission control module software. Updated software is available that may correct shifting issues.

A Coolant leak under the middle of the vehicle can be caused by a leaking throttle body deicer. Coolant travels down the engine towards the rear before dripping to the ground.

Oil leaks from the valve cover gaskets are not uncommon. Our technicians tell us that if one valve cover seal is found leaking both valve covers should be resealed to try and avoid future issues.

The Check Engine Light may illuminate due to a defective EVAP leak detection pump or defective a oxygen sensor.

A failed vehicle height sensor can cause deactivation of the air suspension.
