Hybrid traction battery has one or more weak cell that drop out prematurely. The hybrid system detects the large voltage change and forces a rapid pack recharge. The rapid recharge only helps the weak cell(s) for about a half day and then the cell collapse and rapid recharge process repeats. Again, again, and again. The use of rapid recharging (recal) greatly decreases fuel economy.

The IMA light coming on is usually caused by a battery pack that is no longer charging correctly. Replacing the battery pack will turn off the IMA light.
On certain models the drivers seat bushings can wear out and the seat can rock back and forth. Replacing the bushings are needed to repair this issue.
I have had three episodes where the check engine and the IMA lights came on. Also noticed that the charge indicator on the battery would jump around wildly. Engagement of the IMA motor was herky jerky.
Dealer says that they have ordered a new IMA battery and will replace it under warranty.
Curious to see if this corrects the problem. My suspicion is that the battery was bad from the get go as this car has never performed as well as my 2...
On certain models the windshield wipers will not park in the proper place or won't shut off. The wiper motor must be replaced to repair this issue.
The brake pedal may feel hard after a cold start at higher altitudes. Our technicians tell us replacing the power brake booster and updating the computer software should correct this concern.
A harsh engagement of the automatic transmission may be noted after the engine auto stops. A software update for the powertrain control module (PCM) / constantly variable transmission (CVT) is available which may correct this issue.
Worn door locks (tumblers) can cause the lock not to work. Removing the lock and replacing the worn parts (tumblers) is needed to get the lock working again.
A vibration may be felt in the steering wheel upon brake application. Our technicians tell us that this condition is generally caused by warped front brake rotors. Replacement or re-machining of the faulty rotors will be necessary to correct this issue.
A fluid leak may develop from one or both front suspension struts. Replacing the struts (usually in pairs) will be necessary to take care of the problem.
In some cases drive belt noise can be heard from the passenger compartment. Installing a new updated belt from Honda and rerouting the belt is needed will commonly correct this noise issue.
Plugged moon roof drains can cause a water leak inside the car, usually over the head of the driver or passengers head when turning a corner. Cleaning the drains will fix this problem.
On Certain models a faulty power window switch can cause the power windows to work or not work intermittently.
Damaged engine mounts can lead to vibration and roughness felt in the steering wheel. A rattle in the dash and engine area may also be heard. Replacement of damaged mounts will commonly correct these issues.
The air/fuel sensor, located in the exhaust system, may be damaged by moisture in the exhaust resulting in illumination of the Check Engine Light. Replacing the damaged air/fuel sensor and updating the powertrain control module (PCM) software should correct this concern.
