Some vehicles may develop a musty odor coming from the HVAC system, Dodge has issued a cleaner/disinfectant and a coating for the evaporator designed to inhibit bacterial growth.

A refrigerant leak at the rear AC expansion valve and/or AC evaporator seals may cause the rear AC not to work.

Due to a lack of lubrication, the AC compressor can fail. The AC compressor warranty was extended to seven years or 70,000 miles.

While turning in either direction during low speed parking lot maneuvers, if a creaking, squawking, squeaking, grinding, or groaning sound is heard from the front strut area, locate the front strut dust boot and rotate the dust boot side to side. If the sound is present, applying lubricant to the jounce bumper (bump stop) of both front struts can help with the noise.

When braking during low speeds (under 10 MPH), the brake pedal may vibrate and the ABS hydraulic unit may cause a rumbling noise. This is caused by a momentary loss of the wheel speed signal to the ABS controller. Adjusting or replacing the wheel speed sensor will commonly fix this problem.

If the heater is on and no heat is felt from the right side dash vents, there may be a problem with the blend air door shaft; a revised part is available to address this concern.

V6 engines may experience surging while driving. The condition is more noticeable between 40 and 50 MPH while accelerating up a hill/slight incline. Replacing the powertrain control module (PCM) and updating the transmission control module (TCM) software may be required.

Timing cover oil and coolant leaks are common, the oil and coolant don't normally mix. Our technicians recommend to replace the timing chain and cam sprocket if the timing cover is removed to reseal - or for any other reason.

Hood misalignment, cowl cover misalignment, wiper module drain tube(s), and/or the lower plenum drain hose may cause the HVAC housing to leak water onto the passenger side floor. Diagnoses will be required to confirm the location of a water leak in the front passenger area.

A "tapping plate cage" on the driver side frame rail may cause a squeak or tick noise while driving, this is often misdiagnosed as a suspension problem. The tapping plate is a threaded plate which accepts one of the front sub-frame mounting bolts. The "cage" of the threaded plate may be touching the frame rail causing noise as the vehicle is driven. "Adjusting" the rear tab on the tapping plate cage so it no longer is touching the frame should eliminate this noise.

An oil leak from the oil filter adapter may be evident. Dodge has made a revised oil filter adapter is available.

Spark plug tube seals fail, causing the tubes to fill with engine oil and the engine to misfire. As a result, the engine may run poorly and fuel economy can suffer.

The rear lift gate support (prop) attaching bolts may break, causing the lift gate to fall unexpectedly. Thorough inspection of the bolts is required; if the support washers are loose, the supports need to be replaced.

One or more power windows may stop working due to a failed regulator or motor which will require replacement. Our technicians tell us the regulator and motor is replaced as a set on these vehicles.
