It is recommend to change the engine oil and adjust it to the proper level and run the engine to bleed any trapped air from the valve lash adjusters before testing for excessive bleed down.
The brake pedal may not return to its fully released position causing the brake lights to stay on. If no brake pedal return spring is in stalled there is a spring kit available. If the brake pedal return spring does not correct the problem the actuator piston should be replaced.
The transmission has numerous problems; symptoms can range from shuddering to completely dying. The majority of the TSBs (service bulletins) require an overhaul of the transmission. Updated internal parts are available.
Poor electrical connections at the input or output speed sensors may cause the cruise control to become intermittently inoperative.
The shifter may become locked in neutral or reverse. A stronger reverse detent spring is available to correct this condition.
A squeak noise when shifting out of gear may develop where the shift cable attaches to the gear shift lever. Our technicians tell us the shifter assembly must be replaced to correct this condition.
A poor connection at the rear load leveling or air suspension relay can cause the rear of the vehicle to sag intermittently. Our technicians tell us that the connector can be secured at the relay using a tie strap.
Improper fuel pressure or fuel pressure fluctuation may be cause by a faulty fuel pump module.
A high pitched whistling noise from the engine may be caused by the idle air control motor. Our technicians tell us there is a revised IAC motor to correct this condition.
A loud snapping noise may be heard from the exhaust after the engine has been shut off. Replacing the exhaust pipe may be necessary to correct this issue.
An erratic or intermittent rough idle during the first 3 minutes of engine operation my be caused by a faulty idle air control motor.
