A damaged oil pump (possibly caused by interference with the AC compressor bracket) can also cause a knocking noise from the engine compartment; a modified bracket is available from Dodge.

When the outside temperature is above 90° F and the AC is running, a knocking noise from the engine compartment may be heard, especially when the vehicle is stopped or idling. This is commonly caused by a failing AC compressor assembly which will require  replacement.

A rattle from the rear of the vehicle may indicate that the rear shock absorbers are defective. Updated shocks are available; however, careful inspection of all suspension components should be performed before any parts are replaced.

A defective EGR valve can cause a popping or knocking noise from the engine compartment. It is usually heard when the engine is warm (between 1600 and 1800 RPM).

The overhead video screen may not power on, updating the video entertainment system software may be necessary to correct this concern.

Convertible model
One or both windshield washer nozzles may plug or clog. There are revised washer nozzles available which are more resistant to plugging.

A squeak heard while turning the steering wheel may indicate that the rubber boot seal on the steering shaft needs some trimming and lubrication.

Due to a problem with the rear drain, the sunroof may develop a leak into the passenger area. The drain tube can get kinked; tubing can be installed over the drain hose to prevent further problems.

Software updates are available to address transmission issues. However, due to the age of these vehicles, mechanical failures are more likely to be causing transmission problems. If a mechanical failure is repaired or the transmission is replaced, it is important to make sure any software updates have been taken care of. Failure to do so could result in continuing transmission issues.

If the heating, ventilation and AC (HVAC) system makes a whistling noise, the HVAC module may need a software update.

Sedan and Convertible
If you hear a honk or "fog horn" sound within a few seconds of turning on the air conditioning, that can be fixed by replacing the AC expansion valve. Occasionally vibration from the honking can be felt in the steering wheel and car seats.
