The metal brake line corroded away, and without warning failed completely. My truck was built in 2002 and during that time GM did not use stainless steal for the brake lines. Living in PA, we use salt on our roads during snow events. This salt corrodes away the non stainless steal break lines. If you have a GM vehicle made from 1999-2003, check to see if the SS was OEM spec. If not, have your shop check for any corrosion along the brake lines ...

Illumination of the Check Engine Light may be the result of a loose or worn gas cap.
The EGR valve may stick open causing a rough idle and the Check Engine Light light to illuminate. Our technicians tell us that a piece of carbon may become stuck in the valve causing this problem. Cleaning the valve will usually correct this condition, in some rare cases the valve will need to be replaced.
The intake manifold gasket may develop and external engine oil or coolant leak. In some cases, an internal coolant leak may occur causing coolant to mix with the engine oil. Our technicians tell us that operating the engine with a coolant/oil mix can result in internal engine damage. Replacing the intake manifold gasket should correct these leaks.
Dripping oil all over driveway. The oil pan gasket was replaced after warranty ran out! Parts and labor was $1,187! Found out it was a common problem with the 2.2l engine.
Found code P0300. The solution was the coil for cylinder 2&3 bad. Replaced coil, engine running good.
The serpentine belt tensioner can fail; it may become noisy and/or the belt may jump off. Replacement of the failed tensioner will be necessary.
A cover plate on the front of the engine may develop a coolant leak, resulting in an engine overheating condition. This plate covers the location where the water pump was installed on previous versions for this engine. Replacing the gasket for the cover plate and refilling the cooling system is generally all that is required to correct this concern.
Vehicles using the enhanced vortec V6 engine may be hard to start run poorly and/or use to much fuel due to a fuel leak inside the intake manifold plenum. Commonly this is caused by a leaking fuel pressure regulator or fuel line. The fuel system will need to be pressurized with the upper intake manifold removed in order to determine the exact cause of the leak. Removing the "tuning valve" from the upper intake can allow for limited visual inspection without removing the upper intake manifold.
A door window may move slowly or stop in mid travel due to a failing power window motor. The affected window may start working again after the motor cools off. Replacing the faulty window motor will commonly correct this concern.
