Oil leaks from the camshaft drive pulleys and variable valve timing hydraulics are common. If the variable valve timing hydraulics is leaking, the Check Engine Light may illuminate from inaccurate valve timing.

The thermostat may erratically stick open or closed. The can result in illumination of the Check Engine Light and/or engine overheating.

A creaking type noise may be noted from the front suspension. Replacement of the  front sway bar may be required to correct this issue.

To avoid sludge accumulation inside the engine, our technicians recommend using the proper synthetic oil with the appropriate oil filter.

An ignition coil or spark plug may fail unexpectedly resulting in an engine misfire and possible illumination of the Check Engine Light.

An External oil leak may develop from the valley pan gasket (under the intake manifold) and/or the head gasket.

Oil leaks can develop in the crankcase ventilation hoses, in between the cylinder banks.

A burning smell may develop due to an oil leak form one or both valve cover gaskets. Resealing the valve cover will generally correct this concern. However, the valve covers should be inspected and replaced if damaged.
