2000 BMW 740i Question: preventitive maintanance or if it ain"t broken do not fix it.

I have a 2000 BMW 740i and the car is running great. It has 103,000 miles on it. I have heard about the BG trans flusH should i have it done.

    It could prolong the life of your transmission. It doesn't matter so much that its a BG flush. What makes the difference is the fact that new fluid is in the system. If the transmission is acting up, it may or may not improve the symptoms. Hope this helps.~Berny

    I really like BG products, but I don't think they have the ATF equals to the ESSO ATF LT 71141, BMW 83 22 0 002 121. This is a special oil and I believe BG's Multi ATF is not approved for this transmission.
    If I could have a suggestion I'd say get the wiring harness checked from the thermostat to the DME (ECM). The coolant commonly sweeps through the harness and damage the DME.
