To replace the power switch, you must get a part number. You can simply just replace the switch. It is not necessary to replace the whole panel.

I've had this happen to me twice, and both times I've had to replace the entire window unit.

Great job rodneygrill, I followed your instructions to try and fix my window problem on ML320 today and it worked like a champ. I really appreciate you taking the time to post that up, very clear and precise instructions made it easy.
I cant thank you enough, great job. Maybe you should give Mercedes a call they need your help.

HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH TWICE ON A 1999 ML320
TOO INVOLVED FOR ME TO DO MYSELF SO I HAD A REPAIR SHOP (NOT M-B DEALER) FIX. SECOND TIME WAS ABLE TO GET THE SWITCH PANEL FROM A WRECK BUT BOTH TIMES IT COST ME $300 FOR PARTS AND LABOR

I believe M_K is wrong. On mine, I had to replace the entire assembly, which is all 4 switches on the console. Two back ones worked fine.
