Question: Power Window stuck down

Question

Visitor, 3.8L V6, Battle Lake, MN, April 25, 2010, 14:22

The driver side front window on my 1999 Grand Prix GT has stuck in the down position. I thought it may be the window motor, so I switched it out with the rear window. The motor worked there and the window went up and down with no problem, but the front one still won't work with a good motor. So I'm thinking it must either be the switch or the regulator. How do I find out without having to purchase both, and is there a way to manually get the window closed in the meantime?

Take off the driver door panel and use a battery to operate the window motor to be sure that the regulator is not broken. If the motor can raise and lower the window, then it is either a switch or wiring problem.
