power steering fluid leak on 1997 Ford Ranger

will the pump need to be replaced or may it be that on the hose or line needs to be replaced?

Depends on where the leak is coming from, it could be any of those items you listed or others like the steering rack. Find the source of the leak and the answer will follow.
