Rookieand where is this power steering pump?? My father and I looked all inside the hood today and found nothing that looked like it had anything to do with power steering; we're all used to older vehicles.

MasterGo to this site and download your owners manual and it should be under maintenance or checking things under the hood http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/ Hope this helps

MasterI researched your vehicle and your G6 has electric power steering so no fluid is needed

Pontiac sends all owners a letter that states if if the warning message "Low Power Steering Fluid" apears on the Radio message center and you find you have electric power steering, you should take the car to the dealer to have the system repaired.

Visitor, May 08, 2010, 15:59ReplyIt is electric...just replaced mine on 5/5/10...the dealer said it is fully GM part...my claim is under investigation..went outgoing down interstate almost causing a wreck..part was 369 plus labor and tow charge..I have reported it to the BBB and FTC..GM is well aware of the electric power steering problems..they have recalled several of their models for faulty steering problems..there needs to be a recall on this..and they should put in manual that it is electric..my husband looked forever trying to find the pump the manual says it has!GM needs to do something before someone gets hurt..I will never buy a GM again.
