power steering code on 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser

My check engine light came on and the code is power steering P0551. What does this mean? Nothing seems out of the ordinary, no squealing or anything.

This has nothing really to do with the function of the power steering system. It has to do with a switch in the pressure line that is triggered when ever the power steering is used, say when your are parking. The purpose is to trigger the Engine Computer to raise the idle so the engine won't run labor and possibly die. It is a pretty easy repair, just replace the switch. It is a pretty common problem on Chrysler/Jeep vehicles. Good Luck!
