You must have lost your power steering assist. Check the power steering fluid level, should be between the marks on the dipstick attached to the cap. If there's no fluid, you have a leak. If it's up to level, there's something wrong with the system. The pump pulley should have a drivebelt turning it. The high pressure power steering hose will commonly leak fluid and should be replaced if this is the case.
