2003 Toyota Sequoia Question: Power locks, dome light and rear window only work when the Sequoia is started.

Recently my power locks and alarm stopped working when using the key fab. I thought it was the batteries in the key fab so I tried my backup fab. It also didn't work. Then I noticed the power locks didn't work at all unless the ignition was turned over. The same for the dome lights, when I opened the doors with the car off the dome lights would not work. But they work fine when the car is started. I double checked to make sure the lights were set to the "door position". The rear window also does not work when I insert the key and turn it - unless the car is started.

Is there a fuse that controls this that needs to be replaced, or is this a bigger issue?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I found that the fuse that was Blown was the ECU-B fuse which controls a bunch of auxiliary items when the ignition is off - dome lights, alarm system, power locks, rear window etc. It may also be related to the radio.

I replaced it and it blew after three times of locking my doors. I replaced it again and it lasted about 2 days.

I Called Toyota to see if it would be worth trying to pull a code and they said no (not very confidently). I wanted to check back with the new info to see if you would still recommend scanning codes..

On a side note, I have noticed that while driving, the sound to the front speakers will go muffled or decreased in volume and then come back to normal. I suspect one of the amps which powers the front speakers is having issues. Not sure if this is related to the ECU-B fuse? I'm wondering if I have a short somewhere causing all these issues? I have read about the rear window wiring getting worn on this model.

    Thanks for the response.
