Due to many miles on the car, my power brakes are failing. The pedal fades with foot on brake and car rolls until I apply more pressure. How do I get it fixed? I've had my brakes and brake fluid thoroughly checked so don't tell me that is what is wrong!

It would be very difficult to know what is wrong without seeing the car in person, but I have a question, is the pedal sinking to the floor? Would you describe the feeling of the brake pedal as "Soft", "Spongy" or "Hard" when you apply the brakes?

To lawrenceg: Braking is normal at first stop, then pedal fades 1/4" to 1/2" (not to floor), car rolls, exert more pressure on brake and car stops moving. When it is quiet i.e. engine not running, You can hear a "swoosh" when applying brakes

U have a leak in your brake system somewhere air is getting in your lines. U need to check for leaks and bleed your brake system.
The ABS accumulator may fail causing loss of power brake assist. (The brake pedal will become very hard).
my brakes are real hard to push and when it stops it shakes real bad
