Question: poor gas mileage

Gas mileage went from 35 to about 20. the check engine light has not come on. sometimes it is hard to start when hot and will shut off when idleing.

MasterDo you have a check engine light on? I have seen this problem before when the air flow sensor on the Echo goes bad, sometimes it sets a light sometimes you loose power and gas mileage decrease. You can try cleaning the sensor using only a product CRC product # 05110 and or have it tested using a scan tool measuring air flow figures into the engine under load.
