It was on for a month or so and i was told it was probably a piston misfire and i needed to change the catalytic converter, so will it comeback on or just stay off till somthing else is wrong?
i had what i thought was the ignition switch replaced on my Pontiac grand prix gtp 2001. i am still having same problems. i am now being told that what i had replaced was the lock cylinder if that is in fact true wouldn't i have received new key?
I'm not getting any heat in the car. The a/c seems to be working fine. No overheating issues. Antifreeze is full.
After the car sits for a few hours, the blower doesnt work sometimes when I start it. It usually kicks on after a short time, however, today it wouldn't come on at all.
While driving down the highway and around town the door locks on our Grand Prix almost continually cycle to the lock position. The locks never unlock unless you push the button on the key fob or the door. Somedays they operate normally then the will chatter all day. The lock delay works normally when you close the doors. Any suggestions?
the pump was bunrt out and was throwing a code so i replace the air pump
When I bought this used car (100,000 miles)it had a new catalytic converter on it. Shortly after that I got a SES light and the dealer said the catalytic converter had failed again. He replaced it. 5000 miles later I have a SES light and had a local garage I trust scan it. They got code P0420, converter failed. They say the dealer used an aftermarket converter and you need to use an OEM unit, $586 is the friendly price for a Magnaflow unit!
Here is a run down of the problems. Listed as running lean I have a fuel pressure of 30psi not the 48-55psi required. all lines checked and good. Fuel pump is good. Have been told that the piston rings may be out and need replacing. Also got told that problem might be in the fuel injectors may be clogged, but wouldn't the lines be over pressure if at the end of line. However car starts fine when cold. Will not start when hot or has been running for more then 30 minutes, car must sit for an hour at least to be restarted. Makes chugging sound when initally started then evens out. Also car shimmies at 42mph and 74mph. No idea why the shake but rides fine at any other speed, odd.
WHERE DOES THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR COVER ASSEMBLY GO?
when i put car in reverse the car shuts off
About how much fuel is left in the tank when the Low Fuel Light comes on?? Thank you
radio works fine ,but can't see what station I'm on.
I am working on a 2001 Grand prix 3.8 ltr non super charged the customer's complaint is stall condition then will not restart for 1/2hr to 2 hours.
I picked up the car and drove it back to my shop it stalled as i pulled in. once i got to my tools and went to the car the car started and has not stalled for me in 3 days. I cannot rule out the crank sensor, the cam or the ignition module at this time. tries wiggle test, verified all grounds etc. Fuel pressure remains during stall condition, any ideas on this. thanks
good year quoted me a $600 dollar price on the coolant system. is that a good price or where should look to find a better price?
