The definition of P0101 is "Mass Air Flow" sensor reading is inconsistant with "Throttle Position Sensor" reading. This means that the computer cannot regulate the engine properly because it's getting inconsistant data from the sensors. It's possible that there's not anything wrong electrically but there could be an air leak into the intake system, but more likely it's an electronic problem relating to the MAF or TPS. Not fixing these things will usuallly lead to further problems later (dirty oil, engine wear, failing inspection) and will cause the engine to use more fuel and emit more exhaust pollutants. the best way to repair this code is to check the input and output of the MAF and the TPS and find outr what's really wrong. MAF problems ore not uncommon on these cars, in my experience. I'm suspicious that there are more codes than P0101, would be good to know.
