Hi folks,
I have a 2000 C230 Kompressor. My pneumatic power assist sometimes makes odd noises. I'm not sure if it is low on fluid. I have located the unit but cannot seem to find a reservoir for it. Does it run off of the P/S or brake fluid reservoirs.

Thank you

I am confused on which system you are trying to diagnose. The pneumatic system is usually for seat adjustment and door lock actuation. Under the hood you have the P/S system with the reservoir cap near the oil filler cap it may be partially obstructed by the engine cover. If the noise you are hearing is coming from the left (driver's side) front of the motor, then you have a P/S fluid concern, (hydraulic fluid). If your noise is present when turning the wheels and especially loud in the AM when the vehicle is cold, you probably have low power steering fluid level, which can be caused by the reservoir to pump seal leaking, power steering pump shaft seal leaking, steering hose leaking or a leaking steering rack(or gear box whichever your vehicle is equipped with). This vehicle is not equipped with pneumatic suspension.
